DESCRIPTION
One of our smtp.aa.net.uk email servers was giving TLS errors when customers tried sending email.
Resolution: A problem with the TLS certificate was causing this problem.

DESCRIPTION
We are performing routine upgrades to our mail servers. This is both the operating system and the mail server software.

This also serves as reminder to customers who may be running out-of-support email programs or operating systems that may have problems connecting to up-to-date servers. eg - customers who are running Windows 7 would be running an operating system that went out of support over two years ago. We will attempt to contact customers who we see as having connection problems.

Customer's using old devices, old operating systems or old email programs which have problems connecting may be able to use webmail instead: https://webmail.aa.net.uk

DESCRIPTION

This is regarding email for domains that we host and where we have configuration such as Aliases to forward incoming email on to a third party email address. eg: if you have a domain with us and have email forwarded somewhere external such as a Gmail account. Customers who collect email from our servers by POP3 and IMAP were unaffected, as were email that customers send through our smtp.aa.net.uk relay.

We had a problem between 2PM on 25th August and 2:15AM 26th August where incoming email for customer domains that are configured to forward email on to a 3rd party email address would have been failing and subsequently lost.


Resolution:

This was due to a configuration change we made in how we relay email on to third party addresses. The change was applied and tested to be working ok. However, a few hours after this change our email systems had automatically blocked ourselves from sending email. The problem was fixed at 2:15AM when we became aware.

We do apologise for this. Unfortunately it's not possible to recover the lost email. We will have logs of messages that were lost, if customers need this information then please do email in to support@aa.net.uk

DESCRIPTION
In light of the recent problems with our database cluster we have scheduled at short notice a maintenance period to investigate the problem further. This will happen tonight from 10PM (Friday 26th November.) During this time webmail will be offline and there may be delays to incoming email.
Resolution: This work has been completed. We believed there was inconsistencies in the database which caused problems with the cluster - we have re-created the cluster and will monitor and investigate further if problems continue to occur. We do apologise for the intermittent disruption this has had to customers over the past two days.

We have alerts that there is a problem with incoming email - this may be affecting customer domains which we run email for. This is being investigated.
Resolution: We do apologise for the inconvience this caused - this was down to human error with configuration of our load balancers.
