LINX, one the main peering points in the UK has problems, and this is affecting various bits of the internet.
At the moment, we are seeing no traffic over our LINX ports in both London datacentres. Instead traffic has moved to other interconnects that we have. We are seeing increase of traffic on our transit links and other peering links.
We're seeing some traffic come back on our LINX port in Telehouse
We're seeing some traffic come back on our LINX port in Equinix LD8
Things are starting to get back to normal.
The traffic graphs on LINX's portal show the drop of traffic: https://portal.linx.net/ (The drop at 13:30 looks is probably a data collection problem rather than an actual drop of traffic.)
Whilst LINX has been stable overnight, they are still investigating the root cause with their switch vendor. They will be doing further tests during Wednesday and may need to perform emergency maintenance. We'll be notified if this will affect our connections.
The Internet Exchange Point 'LINX' had an outage affecting many parts of the UK's internet traffic.
