BT have planned maintenance on one of the hostlinks that connect us to them. We will therefore be moving traffic off this link before their work starts. BT work is planned for 9th January at 1AM, and we will move traffic during the evening of 8th January. This should not affect connections and the move of traffic should be seamless.
Traffic has been moved off the hostlinks that BT will be working on from midnight. However, this act was not as smooth as it should have been, it did cause a large number of BT circuits to drop and reconnect.

This does mean, that when BT do their work a bit later, that there is a risk of another blip or possible outage.
BT say that they are starting their work now...
Unfortunately, BT actually did not carry out their planned work, and will reschedule it for a later date. The cause of the outage that this caused has been identified as a mis-configuration within BTs network which prevented our traffic from failing over to our links to BT in Telehouse. This has been fixed by BT and we will retest.
