At around 10:45 we had a small number of BT lines drop and reconnect. This was caused by one of our interconnects to BT going down. - this also happened overnight at midnight.
Customers reconnected within a minute or so. The link to BT is still down, but we have plenty of capacity on our remaining links.
BT are aware of this and we're awaiting updates.
BT confirm a problem at their end, with interconnects to around eight other service providers affected.
Customers that were affected by this are back online.
The link is still down, but services are not affected.
BT have overnight work to repair the broken fibres at their end.
BT completed their work overnight.... however, the same cross-connect to BT dropped at 10:02 today causing a small number of BT lines to drop and reconnect. We are chasing BT for updates on this.
BT are aware of today's incident and it has also affected other ISPs.
Due to the instability of this link we have taken it out of service from our side. We'll continue to monitor and will wait until BT give us the all clear and we have seen no link drop for a period of time before re-enabling. Our service is now stable and we have more than enough capacity in our remaining links to provide service as normal.
This link is still out of service whilst we await the all-clear from BT.
The link has been stable since Friday, and we have re-enabled it on our side.
