We're investigating routing problems which looks to be disrupting some traffic. Updates to follow.
We do apologise for the severe disruption to services that customer have had this morning. We continue to monitor the situation.
The exact impact of issues today is not entirely clear - a lot of general internet access has been unaffected, but some specific routes (mainly via peering points) was disrupted, and access to our services in Maidenhead (notably VoIP) were disrupted. There was a second issue around 13:30 which has been tackled. We continue to monitor the situation carefully.
Unfortunately we are seeing some issues again, and working on them.
Sorry if this has all been a little vague. We are addressing some very high unexpected levels of traffic on some peering/transit and parts of our network, and working to mitigate this and ensure services continue working as much as possible. We seem again to be stable.
We are reviewing the events of the day in detail, and hope to work on some new proactive measures in future. For now we are monitoring as things seem reasonably stable for now.
