There looks to be a TalkTalk fault that has caused a number of lines in Newcastle area to drop PPP from around 12:13. We're investigating and awaiting more information.
TalkTalk confirm they "have issues in the North East area...". We're awaiting further information. This is affecting other service providers too.
This is related to https://aastatus.net/36394 where there is a fire in a Newcastle node. Further updates will be posted on that page.
Most BT and TalkTalk affected lines are now back online.
Outage was caused by a fire at a telephone exchange in Newcastle. Most lines reconnected shortly after 2PM.
