We have a number of DSL lines down in and around Scotland. BT say: "Due to the severe weather in Scotland early this morning there was a major outage at Edinburgh Exchange causing loss of 20CN & 21CN / ETHERNET, MEAS & BROADBAND SERVICES. Engineers are currently on site recovering services. We're sorry for any inconvenience that this has caused."
This incident is linked to: https://aastatus.net/36744 We'll keep this post updated with updates as we get them too.
From BT: "BT is making progress towards full restoration of Service. Further updates will be provided as soon as possible."
From BT: Engineers are currently on site removing the excess water and ensuring the building is safe to commence investigations. At this point we are estimating that it is likely to take 12 hours to fully restore service. All necessary resource is on site and our Major Incident team are managing the restoration.
Small update from BT: Engineers remain on site. A plan is in place and work is underway to attempt to restore service. We are currently at the pre-stage of this process and once completed this will enable us to provide a more accurate estimated restoration time. Gulley suckers are on site and set up in order to remove the remaining water. Spare hardware and cabling is on site and on route. Plans are also underway to ensure that the building is secure and there is no risk should there be further rain.
Some services are back online, but not all.
From BT: Engineers remain on site. Water has now been removed from the building and a clean-up is in progress. The Power team have connected cables between the distribution and rectifiers to provide a restoration method. Testing is now being carried out and once completed power will be restored to individual equipment in a staged restoration process. This staged restoration is still likely to take some time. Plans continue to ensure that the building is secure and there is no risk should there be further rain. We will provide another update in the next 2 hours.
We still have about a third of affected customers still offline. This is still an ongoing incident.
From BT: Power restoration to the equipment continues and around 50% of affected services have been confirmed as restored. The phased restoration will continue until all services are restored. We will provide another update in the next 2 hours.
We're seeing most lines as being back online now.
BT Say: Power restoration to the equipment continues and most of the affected services have now been confirmed as restored. The phased restoration will continue until all services are restored. No further updates will be provided unless there is a significant change in circumstances. We’re really sorry for any inconvenience this issue has caused you and your customers.
Further update from BT: Power has been restored to the equipment onsite. Services have been seen to restore, times of restoration are to be confirmed as the services have gradually restored. As a precaution, flood defences are being installed and overnight monitoring will take place with engineers onsite.
