We're investigating a problem on the internet with routing to/from some destinations.
Looks to be a problem within the Level3/Lumen network, who provide us transit. We've disabled our Level3 transit for the moment which has helped.
Other ISPs are seeing oddities too, it's not clear what the cause it. This sort if thing could be a break of a transatlantic fibre or something similar.
Lumen/Level3 tell us they had an edge router in London break. They rebooted it but it didn't come back. Not 100% if that's what affected us though, but it seems plausible. We'll leave our routing via Level3 down for the moment.
Lumen say they have fixed the problem:
Root Cause: An equipment fault impacting IP services in London, England caused the client to experience a loss of service.
Fix Action: The Lumen NOC restarted a chassis, thus restoring impacted services to a stable state.
We've enabled our Level3 transit, looking OK.
